Bio
Prof. K. P. Ray is M. Tech in Microwave Electronics from University of Delhi and PhD from Department of Electrical Engineering IIT, Bombay. Presently he is a Professor in the Dept. of Electronics Engineering, DIAT, DRDO, Pune. Prior to this he was a Programme Director SAMEER Mumbai, wherein he joined SAMEER (TIFR) in 1985 and worked in the areas of RF and microwave systems/components and developed expertise in the design of antenna elements/arrays and high power RF/microwave sources for RADAR and industrial applications. He has successfully executed over 51 projects sponsored by Govt. agencies/industries and developed as many technologies and indigenous systems.

IETE-Ram Lal Wadhwa Award 2018 for outstanding seminal contributions in microstrip/planar antennas resulting in extensive publications. He developed new/import-substitute technologies for high power transmitters, antennas, VHF/UHF radars and several microwave systems for agro/industrial/scientific/medical applications resulting in patents and ToTs.

Contributed as a member of the joint chapter of IEEE EDS and APS Bombay and hosted many IEEE meetings/workshops at SAMEER Mumbai in 2006-2007, when Prof. K. C Gupta, Prof. Madhusudan Gupta and Mr Vijay Nair, IEEE USA visited Mumbai.

He organised an IEEE workshop at SAMEER Mumbai with lectures from Dr. Barry Perlman, Prof. M. Gupta, Mr. Vijay Nair and Prof. Shiban Kaul during Dec 21-22, 2009.

He was a Convenor & Organising Chair of IEEE Indian Antenna Week 2017 (IAW-2017) and successfully organised this event during 5-9 June 2017 at DIAT Pune.
